The purpose of writing this Final Report is to establish the design and analysis embankment of The Reclamation project on KEK Bitung, Sulawesi Utara. The design of reclamation is carried out by determining the embankment’s plan elevation which considers some factors, like soil data and environment data on reclamation area. Some aspects that affect the embankment’s design are soil stability and consolidation due to additional load of an embankment. To know the effect of the embankment to soil stability and consolidation, we can use embankment modeling with finite element method by using software PLAXIS. The results of modelling are soil stability in the form of soil collapse pattern and value of elastic settlement due to the embankment. The land subsidence will keep on occurring for a certain duration depending on type of soil. Reclamation using sand material requires additional process to produce a good density of soil, that is soil compaction. The suitable method for this soil is vibroflotation by using vibrating probe that enters the ground causing rearrangement of the material to produce a denser material. text |
