Description
Summary:Indonesia is an archipelagic country that most of the Indonesia’s territory is sea. Therefore, sea transportation in this country has an important role at distribution, one of which is oil fuel. A new liquid berth at Biak Oil Fuel Terminal that located in Biak Port, Biak Numfor District, Papua, is designed to improve oil fuel distribution to/from Papua. This berth designed to accommodate MT Karmila Ship with 6500 DWT capacity. This report discusses about structural design of the dolphin type liquid berth that consist of loading platform, trestle, breasting dolphin, mooring dolphin, and catwalk. Berth structure designed based on applicable design criteria and standar by considering environmental condition and load that worked to the berth consist of dead load, live load, operation load, berting load, mooring load, and environmental load. Scope of this report are determinating the berth layout and dimension, structure modelling, reinforcement of the structural element, and soil bearing capacity analysis. SAP200 is used to perform structure modelling to determine the ability of the structure to withstand the loads that worked. Output of the modelling is Unity Check Ratio (UCR), deflection, internal forces, and placement reaction. Optimization and modification made to get the optimal design as the UCR and deflection meet the criteria. Internal forces is used to calculating the reinforcement of structural element whereas the placement reaction is used to calculating the soil bearing capacity analysis. The result of this report is a berth design consist of berth dimension, berth structural element dimension, structural element reinforcement, and soil bearing capacity.
