Description
Summary:Indonesian Government under Ministry of Environment and Forestry has applied Ministry of Environment and Forestry Regulation Number P93 Year 2018, that requires industries to use online waste water quality monitoring system. This regulation has the purpose to help operators in waste water quality monitoring and to increase efficiency of waste water quality reporting. To accomplish the regulation, an online monitoring system is designed to monitor waste water quality parameters real-time and continuously, especially for pulp and paper industry. One of subsystem of this online monitoring system is total suspended solids measurement. Sensor that measures TSS directly is high on cost, so the electrical conductivity sensor is used as lower-cost alternative. To get the TSS value from conductivity sensor readings, the author did a data acquisition by acquiring waste water samples from waste water treatment plant at PT. Papyrus Sakti, West Java and tested it to a laboratory. From the test result, a linear regression is done to conductivity and TSS data, and the conductivity to TSS conversion has been obtained.
