Description
Summary:Population growth in big cities is very high due to the large number of jobs available. More and more people are urbanizing from less to more populated cities. This causes condensation of population density in metropolitan areas. People who are involved in urbanization are most likely without a place to live, resulting in a huge rise of slum housing areas. To reduce the growth existing slum areas, a new flat construction project is necessary to improve the quality of life for the people in the slum areas. The project location is in the Bandung City, West Java metropolis with an area of approximately 13,900m2. The metropolitan area of Bandung City has a very high population density; therefore, it is a very advantageous decision to capitalize on the wide-open spaces of the area to build suitable and habitable flats for the people currently living there. Currently, the project property has close-knit communities of residents on a sloping terrain. Because the land's residents are low-income, each communal group has its own set of living patterns. There are numerous factors to consider on the project land, one of which is the lack of open space. As a result, it has an urban farming idea that allows flat users to cultivate plants wherever, whether inside or outside their residential unit. Residents have various demands; thus, each residential unit has a business space, which is made adaptable by the implementation of a mezzanine system in residential units that may be used for children's bedrooms or warehouses.
