The purpose of this final project is to study about percolation, tortuosity and coordination number of artifical rocks. Tortuosity and coordination number influence permeability of rocks. Two dimensional model and three dimensional model of rocks are created by random number generator to investigate these properties. Cellular automata method was implemented in order to search for the entry point, end point, and collect other information from the model, to make sure no flow path was excluded. For the two dimensional model, the average tortuosity is within the range of 1,046 to 1,583 while the coordination number value ranges from 1,939 to 2.698, with a percolation threshold value about 0,35. And for the three dimensional model, the average tortuosity is within the range of 1,216 to 3,019 while the coordination number value ranges from 1,8 to 6,481, with a percolation threshold value start from 0,06 to 0,1. The two dimensional percolation threshold value was around 0.35, while the three dimensional value was around 0.06 to 0.1. These values showed improvement compared to previous research (Ariwibowo, 2006), with the two dimesional percolation threshold value of around 0.5 and 0.2 for three dimensional. |
