Tennis is one of the sports that is quite prestigious and famous in the world, especially on the European continent. However, tennis in Indonesia is still inferior compared to other sports such as football and badminton. The main aspect that causes the underdevelopment of tennis in Indonesia is people’s stigma towards tennis which can be played and enjoyed by the elite and rich people. In addition, the lack of public accessibility to tennis, in terms of education, infrastructure, facilities, and competition provision is the reason for the lack of tennis development in Indonesia. In contrast to Indonesia, tennis in Europe and Australia have a very high interest and positive responses from the public. These are due to the frequent major competitions that are held by the countries which can attract every people. The availability of tennis facilities and infrastructures also plays a very big role to support and encourage people to try and pursue tennis. Refer to the analysis above will be the main issues in designing the tennis academy and training center. The project is located in Kota Baru Parahyangan, Padalarang, West Bandung. This project consists of 3 main functions such as academy, training center, and dormitory. The main objective of this project is to serve as a medium for the community, especially for young people, who want to learn and pursue tennis as well as instilling public interest in tennis. The main design concept of this project is “restorative environment as cognitive booster” where the ideal environment can support the development of the users, in terms of physically, psychologically, and socially. The psychological and social development of the users is some of the vital aspects which must be considered in design so that the progress of education and training becomes more effective. An environment with organized and calm characteristics can help the user’s physical and psychological recovery process after intense activities.
