Description
Summary:Traditional games are a cultural heritage from the old times with ritualistic recreational motor activities. The practice of traditional games encourages global health and can be used as an appropriate medium to shape personality, therefore, apart from cultural reasons, the existence of traditional games must be preserved. However, the limited parks or playing fields in urban areas make people, especially children, rarely go out to play traditional games that have been preserved by playing and documentation, and the use of gadgets makes it easier for parents to supervise their children. The galah asin game, also known as gobak sodor, was chosen because of its collaborative nature which can improve interpersonal and intrapersonal skills as well as affective aspects of physical education learning. Meanwhile, the natural user interface (NUI) was chosen because this type of interface seeks to harness the power of a much wider range of communication modalities and take advantage of the skills people acquire through traditional physical interactions. This study aims to design and implement the galah asin game for cultural preservation and to get its benefits, especially in the New Normal era by using technology, so that this game can be played remotely while maintaining the social experience. The game is implemented using Unity3D and OpenCV. From this study, it was concluded that the salty galah game with NUI had a higher impact on the social and physical aspects of the players compared to using the GUI, with significant results both on the social aspect (U = 2.5, Z = 5.8766, p < 0.0001) and physical aspects (U = 0, Z = 3.30816, p = 0.00094).
