Smart library is one of the most important part on smart school or campuses. smart
school or campuses system like smart cities, are defined as places where devices
and applications create new experiences or services and facilitate operational
efficiency. On this generation borrow books from the library can be complicated
and time-consuming while making a crowded line. To solve the issue this smart
library present a library machine interface. This device system can provide user
to borrow, return, and renew a book automatically. This concept of library in
educational instituition is changing a manual borrowing book with operator
human by a robot machine. This machine uses the SoC (Single on Chip)
technology of the ESP8266 module, which is a microcontroller that integrated
with the Wifi module as its computational processing, this machine combined with
the 13.56 MHz contactless smart card interface MIFARE semi-conductor card
with RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology as a media for user
access to open and running machine and aplication system. This machine has a
book identity detection feature through the Loadcell sensor as a book weight
reader which is converted into the unique data of each book. The Loadcell sensor
was chosen with the efficiency of minimizing damage or unreadability of barcodes
that found in traditional libraries. All databased servers used on this machine are
serial-based using SQLite Databased which will be developed into IoT as well as
a book borrowing machine become much more minimalist and portable.
Traditional libraries need to innovate and adapt to smart society. Technologies
such as Internet-of-things (IoT) on the ESP8266 can be used to capture data in
real time. Using a smart library management system that integrates IoT and
automates the process of borrowing books from traditional libraries to push
libraries towards the next generation of libraries. |
