Description
Summary:Indonesia has abundant marine resources from its vast territorial waters, more than 77% of its total area(Kemenko Marves, 2020). In the management of marine resources, a marine cadastral system is needed in the administration of water space objects. The administration of marine space objects with marine cadastre has been carried out in Indonesia and several other coastal countries in the world. This study aims to examine the development of Indonesian marine cadastre in terms of four (4) the main aspects of marine cadastre, namely legal aspects, institutional aspects, technical aspects, and human resources aspects, as well as comparing the status of Indonesian marine cadastre with the marine cadastre status of other countries. To achieve the objectives of this research, an inventory, scoring, identification and comparison of the activities of water space objects, laws and regulations, marine cadastre status of other countries is carried out based on literature studies conducted related to marine cadastre. The results of this study indicate that from the legal aspect, Indonesia does not yet have a law that specifically becomes the legal basis for the application of marine cadastre in Indonesia. From the institutional aspect, it can be seen that the implementation of marine cadastre in Indonesia is still managed sectorally by ministries/agencies related to water space.Indonesia has developed technical implementation of marine cadastre in Indonesia. From human resources aspect, it can be seen that Indonesia has developed policies to improve the quality of its human resources. From the comparison with the marine cadastre status of other countries, it is found that the marine cadastre in Indonesia still needs to improve several aspects of the implementation of the marine cadastre in Indonesia.
