Summary:ABSTRACT: <br /> <br /> <br /> Kandawrik gold as asset of Indonesia has huge traditional value and potentially to increase informal economic sector. This research tried to explore the potential especially the history. <br /> <br /> <br /> From the history, many things has been discover such as background, that Kandawarik gold are artifact which inborn from the culture, social, delightful, technology and skill. Exploration of based concept and traditional value had been given idea to develop and empowerement Kandawarik gold as a part of Indonesian Jewelry. <br /> <br /> <br /> Field research has been conduct in Borong, Makassar, South of Sulawesi and number another group in town and several district in South of Sulawesi. Data has been collected with interview with the man who involved in the produce and compare with literature study. Based on historical and socio-culture used as a basic philosophy to understand original culture system, including politic condition, socio-culture structure, technology, management, art and design, and develop thinking area. Presenting of data and analysis technique accomplish with descriptive-qualitative method which prematureley do interpretating process. <br /> <br /> <br /> Conclusion has been establish from the research are (1) Kandawarik Gold is a traditional creature which have exciting history and huge of traditional esteem; (2) as a jewelry, it has potentially to develop as folklore asset and economical asset; (3) design of the gold has a unique that can be competitive in world jewelry market; (4) Inclusive design of product are shown where is rich and valuable, able to develop to be came a competition on road of market with the aspect of product quantity, such as, uniques, pureness, ethnic themes, and elaborate values in production section.
