Well Integrity is defined as application of technical, operational, and organizational solutions to reduce risk of uncontrolled release of formation fluids throughout the life cycle of a well. One of the standards that can be used as a reference for well integrity is NORSOK D-010. NORSOK D-010 is a functional standard and sets the minimum requirements for the equipment/solutions to be used in a well. This sets the foundation for how to operate wells and keep the wells safe in all phases of the development. This study is used to show the application of NORSOK D-010 to evaluate the well integrity. To achieve these objectives, well 'X' in Indonesian is used as case study material for temporary well abandon phase. This evaluation is done by constructing well barrier schematic of the well, constructing well barriers diagram, and building fault tree block to know the leakage flow path to surrounding of the well. Calculation of reliability of well barrier elements (WBE?s) is performed base on the fault tree block. Design, tests, monitoring and failure mode of each component of well barrier element were checked. All information about well barrier elements were provided along with analysis toward the possibility of leak and failure which might be occurred during the temporary well abandonment phase. The result of this study is a comprehensive approach to evaluate the well integrity based on NORSOK D-010. Study case of well „X? in Indonesia shows that NORSOK D-010 is a standard that very useful and applicative to evaluate the well integrity. The results of this evaluation can facilitate the determination of the well intervention cost with refers to the health and safety environment (HSE). text
