Most of the students studying in Jatinangor are immigrants so it’s causing the emergence of new housing each year. The growth of these housing is not well organized, even causing so many slums. The main issue is Jatinangor lack of student housing that is integrated with supporting facilities for learning activities. The student’s habit of collaborating and interacting creates a special interest in how to respond to this habit in the function of residential buildings which is another issue in this area. Then, that issue is responded with the design concept called Student Housing with the Co-Living concept or Collaboration Living. There are basic principles that supporting this design concept which are taken from the habits of the younger generation, namely Convenience, Collaboration, Community or called 3C in according to Knight Frank, 2018. This Co-Living project is built on an area of 13.000 m2 located at Jalan Raya Jatinangor No.122, Desa Sayang, Kecamatan Jatinangor, Kabupaten Sumedang, Jawa Barat. The functions in it consist of commercial facilities and residential facilities where residential facilities are 86 of sharing units, 78 of studio units, and 1 of disabled unit. The design of this project was initiated by a private company with a state-owned company where collaboration between the government and the private sector was carried out to realize Jatinangor as an Education City. This Co-Living is designed with an approach to the user’s character, which is students with an age range of 18 to 25 years and the adjustment of functions in it. It is hoped that through basic concepts and all the principles that refer to the target users, Co-Living is able to become a housing that answers the needs of the students themselves and can also overcome the population problems that exist in Jatinangor. text |
