Summary: | The city of Bandung, which has the mission of “Developing an Even, Hierarchical, and Integrated
Transportation Network” creates a shift in the trend towards a pedestrian-friendly city and
environment. This is a challenge for the Bandung City Government considering that there are still
many problems in some parts of the city space, for example in the Kebon Kawung area. The difficulty
of pedestrian path network connectivity, not being integrated between modes, and the lack of public
space are the three main problems that occur in the Kebon Kawung area, Bandung City. In order to
solve this problem, a hub typology will be designed right next to the North and South Kebon Kawung
Stations. The function of this hub will create accessibility for pedestrians connecting Jalan Kebon
Kawung to Jalan Kebon Jati. Then, the transportation that is present in the area is train, Bus Rapid
Transit (BRT), and Light Rail Transit (LRT) which will be available in the near future. Then at the site,
public open space will be donated for the community to be able to carry out activities. Built on an area
of 21,500 m2. The concept of this building is permeability, integration, and plaza. This building will be
known as an accessible hub function that not only connects transportation, but also people. This hub
is known as the Kebon Kawung Accessible Hub. |
