| Summary: | UMKM X is a retail SMEs that sells various types of household appliances. Business focus of UMKM X is a distributor and has workers as a retailer who will sell goods to end consumers with vehicles. To apply for a credit loan, UMKM X has a problem because financial data is not properly available. The owner of UMKM X currently uses manual and very simple business transaction records. The manual transaction records require experts who understand accounting to complete the accounting process for obtain financial statements. The manual transaction records also have a high risk of data being corrupted and lost due to the low level of data security.
The aim of research is to design an accounting information system that can support business transaction records and preparation of business financial statements for UMKM X. Information system design methodology used is prototyping with stages include mapping of business process, modelling of process, modelling of data, and prototype design. This research resulted in a prototype of computerized accounting information system with Microsoft Access. The results of information system design have been verified to meet functional and non-functional requirements and have been validated in accordance with the expectations of system users. Thus, it is expected that the information system design can support business transaction records and preparation of business financial statements for UMKM X.
