By limited number of personnel, validation on required works, surveillance of quality and Contractor resources utilization cannot be conducted. This potential to increase risk of overpayment specifically for the unit rate type of contract where the payment is based on actual material, equipment and manpower usage. In addition, Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) utilization by Company with restricted access for Contractor by the security reason and required documentation lead to longer time period for invoicing process and high administration cost that will finally contribute to the increasing of total cost. The purpose of this study is to obtain a system that can provide actual validation on Contractor used resources including the quality of work and speed up the administrative process in an effort to reduce maintenance costs. Each phase of BPR Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) and Six Sigma - DMAIC are carried out in this research for further comparison to find the best solution. BPR method which focus in redesigning overall process gives additional value for improving other lack of performance part while DMAIC provides more option to solve the problem. Both methods recommend similar solution to combines the company's EAM based platform and web-based application that can calculate total cost of used resources and store data for work quality where the company’s personnel can access it in real time.These job database at the end will generate standardized reports automatically that can be input into the company's EAM with minimum effort. text |
