ADVOCATING PERSONAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT AMONG YOUTH: SINGAWINATA YOUTH CENTER, PURWAKARTA

In the center of Purwakarta there is a crossroad which is a witness to the development of Purwakarta Regency. This intersection is the location of the project site. The site is the gateway to the tourist and historical area of Purwakarta that is also the center of Purwakarta's community activities. The function of buildings around the site is dominated by buildings that offer trade or services (commercial) and residential. The age distribution of the Purwakarta community is dominated by young people. There are 164,526 people in the age range of 15-25 from a total of 953,414 inhabitants of Purwakarta. In addition to culinary exploration and gathering, young people's interest in interacting also appears in sports activities. E-sports online activities are also in great demand and become a point for young people to interact. This project is a project entitled youth activity center in Purwakarta as a means of selfdevelopment for young people. This project uses land that has a lot of potential and matches it to the needs of the community and can be used for a long time. In this case, the needs of young people become the main focus. When users become more mature and do not engage in activities on the project, new, younger users will fill the void so that the project will continue to be utilized by the community. This project combines the recreational, educational and fitness needs of young people with various facilities that cater for one need or a combination. Facilities such as cafes, coworking spaces, internet cafes, studios, tutoring classes, sports fields, and skate fields are integrated into one site both indoors and outdoors. The basic concept of the design uses the GOSPA model by Brian Tracy regarding self-development (Goals, Objectives, Strategies, Priorities, Activity). The results of reducing objectives on activities and functions that building accommodate, become the basis for design directions. The project has 3 main masses and a supporting masses. Placing functions and activities by paying attention to the character of the site with various accesses so that each side of the building is alive and makes it easier for the public to access it. Outside space is not only there, but can also be used, thus there are no dead spots on the site. The building has a total area of 3063 m2 with 2 floors in the youth arena which can accommodate up to more than 150 people.
