Compression of acetaminophen powder (100200 myu m) with granules using Povidon K25, sodium carboxymethylcellulose (NaCMC), and etermanan as binder were expected to produce acetaminophen tablet with a good quality. This experiment studied the influence of various composition of granules (with various binders used): acetaminophen powder, to the physical characteristic tablets. Acetaminophen tablet was prepared with two dose: 500 mg with tablet weight of 700 mg and 100 mg with tablet weight of 400 mg. Granules were prepared using wet granulation method with various binders and lactose as a filler. Granulation was performed in Fluidize Bed Dryer (FBD) granulator. Tablets were evaluated according to standard parameters including size variation, weight uniformity, hardness, disintegration time, friction ability, friability and acetaminophen content in tablets. The result showed that tablets containing 100 mg of acetaminophen with granules using Povidon K25 as a binder (or composition granules : acetaminophen powder=3:1) met requirements of quality. Based on the result, it can be concluded that only granules using Povidon K25 as a binder produced acetaminophen tablets with good quality at dose of 100 mg. <br /> text
