Summary: | Beginning from personal concern, the author intuitively finds the complexity of the wayfinding aspect around the Tambun Train Station area. With the primary way of thinking '5 Why's' and SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threat) analysis of the region's, the author synthesizes that traffic is the main problem.
In examining for supporting data and intuitive observations as well as scientific observations through the author's stay in Bekasi District, the author found a journal that supports that the Railway Station Area of Tambun has relatively high potential to be used as the primary node for the implementation of transit-oriented development (TOD) in Bekasi District.
For this reason, the author carries out the Integrated Transit Hub project, a mixed-use building that accommodates functions: transit, commercial, and residential. With the central concept of 'connectivity’, this project integrates three primary nodes of the area, particularly Tambun Railway Station, Jalan Sultan Hassanudin (primary arterial road), and Gedung Juang '45 Tambun. The location carried in this project is an unoccupied land area of ??±2.5 Ha, located on the west side of the Gedung Juang '45 Tambun or currently known as the Bekasi's Museum. This project aims to support or trigger the realization of the analysis of the Tambun Train Station area's potential for a Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) based area as a proposed solution to urban problems with the realm of design.
The final result of this design is in the form of a mixed-use building with connectivity answers, namely the provision of public facilities, bridges, which connect the area internally and externally. There is also an integrated public park on the rooftop area, which can also be accessed from the bridge. This design is expected to support and trigger activities that support activities in the transit radius. |
