Nevertheless, as the time goes by, Toba Batak cultural heritage is increasingly being abandoned by the community, thus threatened to be completely forgotten. Therefore, Toba Batak cultural park as a facility is required to reserve, introduce, and educate the existing traditional Toba Batak arts and culture to the community. This cultural park was designed using local wisdom approach in a hope that this facility could be a tourism attraction that is environmentally friendly, sustainable, and oriented on the people's improvement based on the culture, nature, and interests. This project is situated at Patuan Nagari Street, Sangkar Nihuta, Balige, Toba Samosir District, North Sumatra. The project site has a land area of 17,025 m2. The difference in the contour of the site from north to south is about 9 meters. The Toba Samosir Regency Tourism and Culture Office is the initiator of this project. The issues raised in the project design are image, interaction, technical, and site. The Cultural Park consists of 10 functional structures with a total area of 4,500 m2 for all of the building. The main activities accommodated are performances, recreation, education, exhibitions, and commercials. The concept of the huta (Bataknese: village) concept design site in the Toba Batak tribe. The mass and structures of the cultural park buildings follow the Toba architectural hierarchy. text
