Description
Summary:Abstract :

Yogyakarta province consists of five districts/city i.e Bantul, Kulon Progo, Gunung Kidul, Sleman and Yogyakarta city, with total area 3,183.80 km2. Industries and settlements grow up at the recharge area (Sleman District) where the population rate about 12,000 peoples per square kilometer as the same time coincide with increasing of the water demand consequently, unbalance between water supply and water demand occurs. In order to return back the function of the recharge area, local government has planned to construct Tambakboyo recharge reservoir as water conservation measures. Reservoir usually constructed as water storage in the rainy season and than use the water in the dry season however, Tambakboyo recharge reservoir has different function with the common reservoir, i.e to recharge water through interstices of soils to raise ground water table. Basically, water supplies of Tambakbayan river is sufficient to gratify of recharge water demand with 34,36 liters per second of total water recharge. That means, Tambakboyo recharge reservoir can contribute 49479 peoples of drinking water per day and also has important meaning to avoid drought water in the near future.
