Description
Summary:The research location at Ciemas, Sukabumi Regency, West Java contains a large mineral resources of the iron deposit. The iron deposit has the magnetism physical properties and the electrical conductivity which causes the anomaly with the surrounding rocks. Geophysical exploration using resistivity pole-dipole method was conducted in order to study the anomaly with the surrounding rocks. The resistivity measurements are normally made by injecting the current into the ground through two current electrodes (C1 and C2) and measuring the resulting voltage difference at two potential electrodes (P1 and P2). From the current (I) and voltage (V) values, apparent resistivity (?a) value is calculated. The calculated resistivity value is not the true resistivity of the subsurface, but an apparent resistivity value. To determine the true subsurface resistivity, an inversion technique must be carried out by using a computer program (Res2Dinv). The 2 D model from Res2Dinv which is correlated with test pit data shows that the research location consist of three layers such as soil, weathering zone, and iron deposit (high magnetism).
