Description
Summary:Tegalluar is one of the areas that will be designed to be a transit-oriented development because a Tegalluar station is planned to be built as the last route of the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Train with the area extension reaching Rancacnumpang Village as the transit-oriented development area at a radius of 400 meters which is divided into two areas: City and District of Bandung. However, public transportation infrastructure is not yet proportional to the existing population. The population’s high mobility which is not supported by a proper public facility and transportation has encouraged the society to use their private transportation to help their daily mobility. This condition has increased the volume of private transportation usage, especially either in the connectivity to or integration with landuse functions interconnected to public transportation. Tegalluar and Rancanumpang are of the lowest areas in Bandung City and Bandung District with an altitude of 669 mdpl and 668 mdpl which experience a decrease in the ground surface rate every year and cause flooding in the areas because the channel cannot accommodate run off discharge. Thus, a transitoriented development area is needed in Tegalluar that can be interconnected to and integrated with public transportation that is friendly to pedestrians and cyclists and can overcome the problem of carrying capacity of the physical environment due to the rate of land subsidence. This study aims at designing an alternative design for a transit-oriented development in Tegalluar based on aspects of density, diversity, design, destination accessibility, distance to transit, and the environment in the transit-oriented development area. In addition, it applies the fragmental method which basically allows several stages of design to be carried out. The final result of this design is a simulation of alternative designs in transit-oriented development based on the aspects of density, diversity, design, destination accessibility, distance to transit, and environment; thus, it can provide an overview and process related to the design of alternative for transit-oriented development areas in Tegalluar, Bandung.
