Description
Summary:Supplier performance evaluation is an assessment process conducted by companies to their suppliers after using the services. Supplier evaluation can be useful to provide a view if the supplier can be used for the next project or vice versa. This fact makes supplier evaluation has become one of the strategies in order to improve supply chain performance. Research that discussed the issue of supplier evaluation has been done in decades with different approaches, methods, and criteria. One of the approaches used is supplier risk assessment which allows to know whether the supplier is risky or not if company wants to use the supplier for the second time. One of the industries that involves a lot of supplier roles and requires supplier evaluation is construction industry, and this organization is characterized as a project-based moving industry (PDSC). Another characteristic in PDSC is each supplier can play a role in one or more activities, and each activity has a different risk level for any particular condition, which cause the risk activity may vary from one to another. The absence of this fact from the evaluation resulted in inaccurate assessment results, and leads to improper mitigation measures. Starting from this fact, this study conducted a risk-oriented supplier assessment by considering the risk of activities aimed at obtaining an accurate assessment model, especially in the case of PDSC. The methods used for data processing are Fuzzy FMEA, AHP and Fuzzy Inference System. The result obtained from this study shows more complete information compared to the company existing assessment system, which leads to its ability to provide a clear picture of supplier performance and how high the risk of activity played by the supplier and through these results it is also known that the activity risk assessment can be used as a consideration to evaluate the supplier and carry out appropriate risk mitigation.
