INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/60968 On March 11, 2020, WHO officially announced that the world was experiencing a pandemic due to the outbreak of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19 disease. This virus is thought to have originated in Wuhan, China. COVID-19 is an infectious disease that attacks the respiratory system. This virus can be transmitted through droplets or the air (airborne). Policy makers are forced to make emergency social distancing regulations in order to reduce direct contact between people. The economy is greatly affected by this social restriction. Many countries are in recession because of this. Since the discovery of the vaccine, there has been hope that easing social restrictions can be done to slowly improve the economic situation. Therefore, it takes the right strategy from policy makers so that social restrictions can begin to be relaxed while still controlling the spread of COVID-19. In this final project, a deterministic model of the dynamics of the spread of COVID-19 is made when the easing of social restrictions has been carried out during the vaccination process. The model is based on a simple modified SIR model. The model yields the proportion of the population that must have been vaccinated in order for policy makers to start loosening social restrictions. The results of the model indicate that the factors of vaccine efficacy, vaccination coverage, and community compliance are very influential in determining the right time to relax social restriction policies. text
