Quality management is the internal process and one of the quality management sections is Quality Control or (QC) as the main point in this research. The object research is PT Genta Trikarya as one of the many guitar assembly industries in Indonesia. As the object research, currently the implementation of the quality control at each stage of the business process has a lack of optimality or poor performance especially for the three QCs that produced the most defects would be more concerned which consist of QC of Sanding Check stage, QC of Polish Check stage, and QC of Coating Check (Sealer 2) stage, which led to a significant increase in the number of defects from the year 2019 to the year 2020. To overcome the problem, the suitable methodology or framework used is Six Sigma Methodology as the problem solving and continuous improvement process. Therefore, this research aims to minimize the number of defects. The data collected in this research by using the qualitative data approach through semi-structured interview and observation as primary data as well as report as secondary data, for the informants which consist of Quality Manager as a main informant and Polish QC Staff as a common informant. The data were analyzed by using the DMAIC approach which consists of Define Phase (Swimlane Diagram and Check Sheet), Measure Phase (Pareto Chart, Control Chart, and Process Capability Analysis), Analyse Phase (Current Reality Tree Diagram), Improve Phase (Action Priority Matrix), and Control Phase uses a good controlling system which consists of (Training Plan, Documentation Plan, Monitoring Plan, Response Plan, as well as Align System and Structure Plan). For the QC stages’ poor performance need to be trained to create the better performance for the next processes as one of the most important proposed solutions, thus the proposed solutions consist of (Training Program, Evaluation per Month, Creating Good Time Management, and Making Maintenance Schedule for Machine) which can be used as the improvement efforts that need to be well-maintained. This research can be said useful for the readers and especially for PT Genta Trikarya as the object research. text
