Description
Summary:ABSTRACT:

An analytical method for preconcentration and trace analysis of lead using atomic absorption spectroscopy based on flow injection analysis has been proposed. This methode is based on Pb2+ retention on modified Polystiren divinil benzene (XAD-16) with Pyrogallol (PG). PG is optimally retented on XAD-16 at pH 3 with retention capacity 0.4490 mg PG/gramXAD-16. Pb2+ is optimally retented on XAD-16/PG at pH 5 with retention capacity 0.0625 mg Pb2+/gramXAD-16/PG. The minimum volume of 0.1 M HNO3 for quantitative elution of lead iS 0.5 mL. Analytical performance of this developed method showed a good precision (%CV 0.32) with limit of detection = 5.50 μg L-1, sensitivity = 0.92 μg L-1 , and sample recovery = 99.23%. The efficiency for flow injection analysis resulting Enrichment Factor (EF), Concentration Efficiency (CE), Consumptive Index (CI), respectively: 27.95, 8.6 minut-1, 6.5mL.
