Summary: | The current condition of energy sector in Indonesia are currently experiencing major issues, such
as nation energy dependence on petroleum, unbalance utilization between the renewable energy
and its current resources, inefficient energy usage and limited energy infrastructure that restricts
people's access to energy. The Government is aware of the problem complexity in the energy
sector and needed a comprehensive national energy management which regulate in the National
Energy Policy on Presidential Regulation No.5/2006 called National Energy Mix 2025. With the
changes that have occurred to dates since the issuance National Energy Mix in 2006, it is required
to have a projected level of national energy demand in 2025 to see how the contribution of coal as
a source of energy dominant after petroleum. In this research, energy demand models built using
econometric model for each sector with the major variables will be forecast. As for the fulfillment
of the primary energy mix, linear programming was used. The result obtained from the model
simulation shows that by 2030, energy demand will be dominated by household sector that reached
1,410.68 million Barrels of Oil Equivalent, followed by transportation sector around 887.39
million BOE. Energy consumption in industrial sector amounted to 827.15 million BOE.
Commercial sector reached 84.56 million BOE and other sectors will reach 19.92 million BOE.
Supported by PLN masterplan on electricity supply, total primary energy mix for 2030 can be
established. Coal has important role on this energy mix with major proportion that reached 40%,
oil 37%, natural gas 20% and geothermal 3% |
