Summary: | Tourism is one of the sectors most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, including
tourist villages. Batulayang Tourism Village is one of the tourist villages in the Puncak Bogor
area where most of the people depend on the tourism sector to meet their daily needs.
However, since the Covid-19 pandemic has hampered human activities, the number of tourists
visiting the Batulayang Tourism Village has decreased drastically. Therefore, the Covid-19
pandemic can be said to be a form of danger that has the potential to threaten all livelihood
assets which include human capital, natural capital, financial capital, social capital, and
physical capital.
The purpose of this study was to identify the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on
changes in people's livelihood assets in Batulayang Tourism Village, Cisarua District, Bogor
Regency which was explained based on predetermined variables and indicators. This research
was conducted through a quantitative approach from the results of interviews, observations,
and questionnaires of people working in the tourism and non-tourism sectors which were used
as comparisons. The analytical methods used in this research are descriptive statistical
analysis, scoring analysis, and comparative descriptive analysis.
Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the Covid-19 pandemic
caused changes in the livelihood assets of the Batulayang Tourism Village community
including human capital, financial capital, social capital, and physical capital. During the
Covid-19 pandemic, the two community groups of Batulayang Tourism Village both had a
total value of livelihood assets at a moderate level of sustainability. However, changes in
livelihood assets in groups of people working in the tourism sector are considered more
significant than groups of people working in the non-tourism sector, especially in financial
capital. So to maintain survival amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, local communities carry out
various livelihood strategies which include survival, consolidation, and diversification. |
