Summary: | Nowdays oil demand is still in increasing trend. In order to fulfill the oil demand, the oil production also have to be increased. One of the ways that can be done to increase the oil production is by using Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) technique. One EOR that often used is surfactant flooding. Surfactant flooding is used to maximize the displacement efficiency by decreasing the interfacial tension between oil and water.
To maximize the recovery factor in thick reservoir, it needs appopriate strategy. Basically, reservoir can be produced from entire layers in the same time or can be produced in several layers depend on the field development strategy. If the reservoir is produced in several layers, the layers can be opened from top to bottom, or from bottom to top.
This study will be varied in oil viscosity value to understand its effect on reservoir performance. All scenarios will be modelled in the Eclipse commecial simulator to find the biggest recovery factor by using five spot pattern. |
