Overgrowth of population, various harmful human activities, reversed climate change, uneven distribution of temporary water resources, and unplanned economic development were the causes of the daily high demand for clean water resources, which had made dangerous effects such as water scarcity and damaged groundwater in many places in the world. Land cover changes can also have a detrimental effect on the groundwater level because it prevents the recharge process of groundwater. This thesis is made to analyze the impact of deforestation change regarding land moisture, population density, and groundwater availability by using remote sensing and GIS technology also helped with field data for validation. The result of this study is hoped to help planners in planning the development of inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable cities and human settlements [SDGs Goal 11]. The result of this study is also hoped to assist governments to ensure the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation so that they can ensure a healthy life [SDGs Goal 6]. The methods of this study are using literature study and field data retrieval in several areas in Indonesia as validation by using the water balance method. The result of correlation analysis between soil moisture and groundwater availability was good strong (the coefficient value is 0,45992), while the correlation between population density and soil moisture was low strong and inversely proportional (the coefficient value is - 0,31469), as well as the relationship between population density and groundwater availability is also low strong and inversely proportional (the coefficient value is - 0,39012) text |
