Delta Scuti type variable is pulsating variable with spectrum type A0 - F5 III - V, amplitude between 0,003 - 0,9 magnitude and period between 0,01 - 0,2 day. In general scuti have small amplitude, but beside this definition, Scuti can divide in 2 sub group (Breger, 1999):

1.High-amplitude Scuti = HADS: amplitude V more than 0.30 mag.

2. SX Phe: population II Scuti. Most of SX Phe type is HADS, but not vice versa.

RS Gru (HD 206379) is a HADS type Scuti with dV 0.59 and period 0.1470 days. This thesis try to describe the photometry and spectroscopy observation of RS Gru and

analyze the result.

Bessel BVRI broad band photometry observation had been done with CCD SBIG ST-8 XME attached on Schmid Cassegrain GAO-ITB 8-inch reflector at Bosscha Observatory.

Photometry differential had been chosen as observation method and aperture photometry as analysis method. For periodogram analysis, two methods had been chosen: Phase

Dispersion Minimization (PDM) and Date Compensated Discrete Fourier Transform (DCDFT).

For PDM analysis with Nb = 3 and Nc = 1 (sample = 3), the results are PB = 0.08636, PV1 = 0.08007, PV2 = 0.15096, PR = 0.0788, PI1 = 0.04029, and PI2 = 0.07939. For Nb = 4 and Nc = 2 in I filter the result is P = 0.1530 day. For Nb = 5 and Nc = 2 in I filter the result is P = 0.1384 day. For DCDFT analysis the result are PB = 0.19455 day, PV = 0.16250 day, PR = 0.19099 day and PI = 0.12923 day.

Spectroscopy observation had been done with Bosscha Compact Spectrograph (BCS) attached on Cassegrain GOTO 45-cm reflector, and could detect spectrum type variability
from A5,5V - A2V - A2V - A3V - A6,5V - A5V - A6V -A2V to A2V.
