In the practice of rice cultivation, various efforts have been made to increase land productivity, including the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) approach and rice-fish cultivation. This research was conducted to compare the level of productivity of rice fields that apply a combination of SRI and rice-fish cultivation to the conventional cultivation, through a case example in Kebon Belajar Tunas Nusa, Rancaekek District, Bandung Regency, West Java. Productivity level comparison was carried out through field studies and literature along with a comparison of the IPO (inputprocess-output) parameters involved in the two research sites in one cycle of rice harvest. Based on the results of the research, the characteristics of the rice plants produced by the SRI cultivation technique are relatively larger and denser in terms of plant morphology, although the productivity (in tonnes/ha) is smaller than conventional cultivation techniques. It was also found that the effectiveness (based on yield) and efficiency (based on the calculation of HOK) were lower in the Kebon Belajar compared to conventional rice fields. The rice harvest in Kebon Belajar is worth 5.118 tonnes/ha while in conventional rice fields it is worth 6.373 tonnes/ha. While the total amount of HOK/ha from Kebon Belajar is 2,892/ha and in conventional rice fields it is worth 1,676/ha. The factors that affect the productivity of rice plants include ecological factors such as air temperature, relative humidity, soil quality, and water quality, as well as factors of cultivation techniques applied which include land management, planting, irrigation, fertilization, maintenance, and harvesting processes. text |
