The interaction between ascorbic acid and cyanocobalamin in aqueous solution could be inhibited by adding sodium salts and halide salts. This study was aimed to examine the effect of sodium sulfate on interaction and stability of ascorbic acid and cyanocobalamin in aqueous solution. The stability study were performed for solution of ascorbic acid, cyanocobalamin, combination of ascorbic acid-cyanocobalamin, and the combination of both substances with addition of sodium sulfate in acetate buffer pH 4,80 at 40 C. Each test solution was purged by nitrogen gas. Concentration of ascorbic acid and cyanocobalamin in aqueous solution were determined using high performance liquid chromatography. The result showed that the rate of degradations of ascorbic acid and cyanocobalamin in combination was not significant different compared to each solution of ascorbic acid and cyanocobalamin. Addition of sodium sulfate to the combination could increase the stability of ascorbic acid but decrease the stability of cyanocobalamin. <br />
