GHG emissions INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/61553 The increasing rate of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions has likely made a substantial contribution to global warming since the mid-20th century. The continuation of global warming will ultimately cause climate change. Fashion industry has been identified as one of the largest GHG emitters, which is around 4% of GHG emissions globally. Consumer behavior accounts for 23% of GHG emissions of the fashion industry comes from activities such as clothing consumption phase, use phase, and end of life phase. A carbon footprint is the measure of the impact of activities on the environment and relates to the amount of GHGs produced in daily activity. This study is conducted in Greater Jakarta and Bandung City, which is two of the biggest economy driven areas in Indonesia. Data collection method used in this study is an online questionnaire with tripetto.app to identify clothing consumption behavior. In this study, the sampling method used is a purposive sampling technique with the members of population of Greater Jakarta and Bandung City with age ranges from 15 to 34 years old. The result of carbon footprint calculation from 524 respondents in Greater Jakarta and Bandung obtains an average of 7.90 ± 6.52 kgCO2eq/person/month. The average carbon footprint of the study results in Greater Jakarta and Bandung is 8.59 ± 6.55 kgCO2eq/person/month and 7.21 ± 6.42 kgCO2eq/person/month respectively. Based on descriptive statistical analysis, clothing consumption behavior in Greater Jakarta and Bandung that has the potential to increase the carbon footprint value are the frequency of clothing purchases and clothing materials purchased at clothing consumption phase. While at use phase are: more frequent and a longer time in washing, drying, and ironing. At end of use phase, the more clothing is discarded, the greater the carbon footprint value which is also supported by inferential statistical results. Based on factors that affect consumer behavior, there were significant differences between respondents in Greater Jakarta and Bandung with their gender, domicile, and occupation. The age and education factors had no association in increasing the value of carbon footprint clothing consumption behavior, while economic level had an association in increasing the value of carbon footprint clothing consumption behavior. text
