Description
Summary:COVID-19 cases are still increasing now in Indonesia. Several conventional drugs were selected to be used in COVID-19. However, the researches had not gotten significant results regarding the efficacy of the drugs. Plant compounds can be an alternative in treating COVID-19. This literature study aimed to recommend plant compounds as SARS-CoV-2 antiviral and antiinflammatory in COVID-19. In addition, this literature study analyzed the correlations and further evaluation in researches that had been done. Searches were performed by using Google Scholar and PubMed with keywords and hand-searching. The Literatures collected were chosen based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The searches obtained 147 plant compounds that were potential as SARS- CoV-2 antiviral and IL-6 inhibitor. Compounds that have potential as antiviral were divided into SARS-CoV-2 and SARS-CoV in vitro research, and molecular docking. Compounds that have potential as IL-6 inhibitor were divided into in vitro and in vivo studies. Andrographolide showed the best activity as SARS-CoV-2 antiviral and testing its derived compounds showed potentials in having both SARS-CoV-2 antiviral and IL-6 inhibitor activities. Naringenin showed the best activity as an IL-6 inhibitor. Curcumin and quercetin showed correlations in every methods used as SARS-CoV-2 antiviral.
