Summary: | The oil and gas industry plays an important role in the Indonesian economy, namely as a source of income for the state budget and a source of energy (especially BBM) as fuel to drive various sectors of life throughout Indonesia. To run their business in Indonesia, which has the status as the largest archipelagic country in the world, is certainly a big challenge for many companies. The biggest factor that becomes a challenge is supply chain management, especially the material procurement process.
PT Minyak Hulu Energi through the Supply Chain Management division which is responsible for supply chain activities faces issues in the repeated reservation process for the procurement of the same MRO (Maintenance, Repair, & Operation) material in a year. These problems were obtained from discussions with the company's internal and procurement data from PT Minyak Hulu Energi. Based on the issues obtained, in this study an evaluation of the procurement of MRO materials was then carried out to determine the root cause of the problem. The root of the problem that has been obtained is then given a development proposal which will then resolve the existing problems.
The approach used in this research is Six Sigma DMAIC which consists of Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control. Based on the analysis that has been done using Root Cause Analysis and Pareto Chart, the problem is caused by reservations more than once a year, a long and complicated process, and lack of procurement planning. Data on the root causes of these problems were obtained through interviews with MHE employees and vendors. Based on these problems, the proposed solution is to conduct a long-term analysis using an umbrella contract/Call-off Order in the MRO material procurement process. This solution can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the process in the administration of procurement of goods, especially in the procurement of goods that are used routinely. |
