Summary: | Coal business has many factors that need to be considered by the company before it takes important decision(s) to keep the business’ growth and sustainability. The decision making of coal mining company should be carried out using the principle of prudence by considering many related factors to maximize its profit and/or minimize the losses due to error in decision making.
To support the business’ growth and sustainability, PT Borneo BYR Makmur sets up a series of business strategy, such the acquisition of PT A, PT B, PT, C, and PT D located in East Kalimantan as its subsidiaries at the end of 2010. Currently, PT A, PT B, PT C, and PT D are in the suspension status since 2015 and could not generate any revenue contribution to PT Borneo BYR Makmur, meanwhile the costs keep occurring.
The purpose of research in this Final Project is to offer recommendation and solution that can be used by PT Borneo BYR Makmur for decision making using problem analysis approach for future planning of PT A, PT B, and PT C, and PT D.
The implementation plan of this Final Project is designed in accordance with the applicable law and regulation for coal mining business in Indonesia.
