BUSINESS STRATEGY FOR SURAU QUR'AN CENTER

Recently, Indonesia are facing many issues that indicated caused by the low level of character and spiritual intelligence, such as high narcotic addicts and corruption. So that character and spiritual intelligence are really seen as a need, investment and fundamental of self-control and protection. This encourage people, especially parents to give education to their children in early stage and not limited to formal knowledge but also focusing to develop their character and good values according to their belief. Beside of that, it is also being an idea of education institutions to establish study place that focus on religion education. Besides of formal school, education institutions nowadays start to establish a non-formal study place that teach on religion knowledge. Surau Qur’an Center is an example of religious learning center that located at Padang, Sumatera Barat. This business is adopted from Qur‘an learning activity that usually conducted at mosque, but it is wrapped in more well equipped facility and more structured learning process and curriculum that adhere to IMTAQ and IPTEK. The establishment of this Qur’an learning center is expected could contribute to fix the character issue and increase spiritual intelligence of national students especially at Sumatera Barat. This study aims to measure the company sustainability and define the business strategy by using TOWS matrix. The result indicates there are opportunities to be sustainable in market, and also recommended to conduct development and improvement in people, business process and technology.
