The prerequisite required is a very low surface roughness value. Electropolishing standard parameters have been determined by International Standards as a reference. However, with the process mechanism still being discussed, several parameters can still be optimized to get the lowest surface roughness value in one process. In this literature study, an analysis of the electropolishing parameters was carried out which gave optimal standard results. The study was conducted from a paper that has tested the electropolishing process with various test parameters, namely electrolyte composition and concentration, temperature, time, current density, electrode distance, and initial roughness value. The optimal results obtained are: electrolyte with a composition and concentration of 35%H2SO4, 45%H3PO4, 3%CrO3, 17%H2O provides a good process stability value; then between test temperature 35; 45; 55; 65°C, time 3; 14; 25; 36 minutes, and current density 10; 29; 48; 67 A/dm2 obtained at temperature 35°C, time 14 minutes, and current density 29 A/dm2 did not have a significant roughness reduction with the values of temperature, time, and current density above it. The electrode distance between 30 and 15 cm, the roughness reduction is a slightly higher at a distance of 15 cm. And between the initial surface roughness of 0.5-0.8 ?m and 1-1.3 ?m, it was found that the higher initial roughness experienced a greater roughness reduction. text |
