Description
Summary:Infrastructure development which includes the development of national connectivity is believed to be one of the answers to the problem of inequality in Indonesia. As a manifestation, the government is developing infrastructure in the form of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTSS). Through the construction of the JTTS infrastructure which began in Lampung Province, it is hoped that there will be an increase in competitiveness, as well as suppression of economic costs. Lampung Province is the fifth largest rice producer in Indonesia or the first on the island of Sumatra. Lampung Province as one of Indonesia's rice granaries, hopes that this goal can also be felt by farmers. However, during the JTTS development process, there were negative impacts such as disturbing the farmers' irrigation water system, resulting in crop failure. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the impact caused by the construction of toll road infrastructure on the socio-economic conditions of farmers in Ujung Gunung Village. This study used descriptive analysis and gap analysis with data collection methods including a questionnaire of 85 respondents and interviews with 7 gapoktans and the Department of Agriculture. The variables used in this study are employment, education, and income as well as the benefits of the toll road itself. Based on the results of the analysis, it is known that the farmers feel the benefits of toll roads in the form of cost and time savings, smooth traffic flow and distribution of goods and services without any significant changes to socioeconomic conditions, but toll rates are still considered too expensive and roads are not smooth. Therefore, BPJT managers must maximize toll road maintenance and reconsider toll rates so that the benefits of toll roads can be fully enjoyed.
