AFTA or ASEAN Free Trade Area is an agreement between ASEAN countries about decreasing the trade barriers between ASEAN countries. With many areas that covered with this Free Trade Agreement, and one of them is to stimulate the easiness for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). Therefore, it is important to know the effect of ASEAN Free Trade Are to Indonesia FDI performance. The purpose of this study is to know the impact of ASEAN Free Trade Area to Indonesia FDI performance and by evaluating Indonesia policy regarding the Foreign Direct Investment. Secondary data was collected from credible source including international organization that involve in trade and economic also from every government in ASEAN country. The result of this research is expected to help Indonesia Government to improve the policy about Free Trade Agreement and Foreign Direct Investment so it will be more beneficial to Indonesia and can compete among the other ASEAN countries or even among the countries outside ASEAN.
