ANALYSIS OF VARIATIONS IN DISCHARGE OF CITARUM HULU BANDUNG, WEST JAVA AND ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH LA NINA

In the period 1952 - 2020, there were 21 periods of La Nina events and 7 of them included in the strong category. One of them was in 2010-2011, and that year was the largest flood event reported in Upper Citarum. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between debit variations in...

One of them was in 2010-2011, and that year was the largest flood event reported in Upper Citarum. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between debit variations in Upper Citarum and La Nina. This study uses a composite method for each variation of discharge and rainfall. The variation in question is to do an overlapping sum, for rainfall by moving sum while for discharge by moving average, then the maximum value of each variation will be taken for each month. The results of this study indicate that the river discharge in the Upper Citarum watershed and rainfall has increased in the period August to November and decreased in the period February to July. However, La Nina resulted in the peak of the ratio of rainfall and discharge for the variation of RX (QX)>= 10 occurring in August while the ratio of rainfall (discharge) for the variation of RX(QX) <= occurred in September (October). text
