The number of domestic tourist trips decreased due to the travel restriction policy. The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) released a set of guidelines highlighting the importance of innovation and technology in building industry resilience. One of the tourism sectors that has the potential to be developed is rural nature tourism. Mekarwangi Village, Sindangkerta District is one of the villages in West Java that has potential and advantages at regional and international levels. Nowadays, Mekarwangi village is being developed into a tourism village. The development of tourism village innovation is directed to optimize the potential of the village as an advantage that can be raised in the development of tourist villages. The concept of a tourism village which is offered is a thematic tourism village that raises the potential of agriculture as the main tourism attraction. The theme which is raised in the development of tourism villages is creative and educative tourism because Mekarwangi Village tourism products have the potential to be developed, so that potential creates the added value through the development of creative and educativel tourism products. One of the factors that influence the success of developing a tourism village is the readiness of the people in Mekarwangi Village. However, there has been no study related to the readiness of the Mekarwangi Village community. Therefore, this study aims to identify community readiness in developing creative and educative tourism products. The literature review that is used for the analysis is the theory of tourism components and the theory of community readiness based on the stages of community readiness and the achievement of indicators which are assessed based on knowledge, attitude and response factors. The results of the analysis in this study are Mekarwangi Tourism village has seven potential tourism attraction that can be develop into creative and educative tourism. The stage of community readiness is at the initiation stage. In the development of creative tourism, the community is ready in terms of response factor. Meanwhile, in the development of educative tourism, the community is ready in terms of knowledge and attitude factors. text |
