Bitter gourd and gotu kola leaves in their single form have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity. This study aims to determine the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity of the bitter gourd and gotu kola extract combination that potentially be the best agent. The anti-inflammatory activity test was done by the Carrageenan-Induced Paw Edema method on male Wistar rats, the swelling volume measurement was carried using plethysmometer. Tests of antioxidant activity at various extract concentrations (ppm) were carried out against DPPH free radicals under 30 ppm concentration using a microplate reader. Data analysis of antiinflammatory activity test was done using one-way ANOVA with post-hoc LSD (p<0.05). Data analysis of the antioxidant activity test was done by linear regression equations to obtain the IC50 value (inhibitory concentration 50). The results showed that a single gotu kola extract and 7G : 3P combination were able to provide the highest percentage of edema inhibition compared to other test extracts, although they did not have a significant anti-inflammatory effect. The single gotu kola extract has the potential as a very strong antioxidant agent, the 1G : 1P combination extract and the 7G : 3P combination have the potential as a strong antioxidant agent. text
