Mining optimization is needed at Berau Coal Company to increase coal production, mining activity on mining optimization pit was carried out by slope monitoring namely Slope Stability Radar (SSR) with safety factor around 1.15 until 1.3.
Several cases of failure went on Berau Coal slope, one of them was plane failure on lowwall slope at Pit C2 site Sambarata Mine Operation. From radar monitoring result on SSR Viewer, can be determined the classification of slope movement, failure behavior, and failure characteristic of slope based on monitoring result data such as deformation, velocity, and invers velocity in period of pre-failure, failure , and post-failure.
Before failure, lowwall slope in Pit C2 happened small to medium intensity rainfall, by condition interlamination sandstone – mudstone material as the slope surface became saturated bedding shear. Therefore, in this research, will learn the relationship of rock mass strength to the saturation as the effect of rainfall event by variation of rock strength parameter of material and groundwater level would be conducted to understand the effect of rock strength parameter to the total displacement of slope and effect of groundwater level to slope stability by numerical simulation and discuss the countermeasure scenario to handle the failure. |
