The development of UV-vis spectrophotometric method has been widely used for simultaneously analysis of drug combination products. Several techniques and approaches have been proposed for the elaboration of spectrophotometric data that have overlapping spectra. This study aims to collect various development of UV-vis spectrophotometric method for simultaneous multicomponent analysis in combined drug products, and method validation. The method used in this study is literature review. Primary libraries obtained from PubMed and ScienceDirect went through four stages, namely searching, screening 1, screening 2, and journal analysis. From the search and screening process, 23 journal were obtained which fit into the inclusion criteria and will be analyzed. From the study of journals, the UV-vis spectrophotometry method is derivative with zero-crossing, ratio spectra, ratio difference, isosbestic points, quotient method, ratio substraction method, mean centering ratio, dual wavelength, wavelet transform, fourier, and chemometrics (multivariate calibration) which shows good linearity, accuracu, and precision. Based on validation study, the development of UV-vis spectrophotometric method for multicomponent analysis can be used for simultaneous analysis of pharmaceutical preparations in quality control laboratorium, and can be applied to dissolution and uniformity test. text
