Description
Summary:The fourth industry revolution brings improvement in every aspect of human life. Internet eliminates distance to bring knowledge to those who are willing to learn. Not only information, technology also helps feed a lot of families in the world. Farming technologies help farmers around the world to take care of their plants and animals with big trucks and tractors. This improvement of course support their work and increases their incomes. But, technology is also an obstacle for them. The total farmland cover in Indonesia keeps decreasing. Thousands of acres of farm plot in Java has been converted into concrete jungles for industries. This added with the increasing rate or urbanization might be a prologue to famine in Indonesia. Urban farming could be a solution to this. In this final assessment, existing researches will be analyzed to decide whether the systems need to be improved or changed to create an automation system for urban farming. The improved system will have scalability characteristics to be able to support low and big scale farming. Then, the system would be implemented according to the decided needs and its performance will be evaluated with high work load. The result is a system which is able to monitor and give care to plants in small or big scale farms. With IoT, the system would be able to support different type of plants with different type of care given.
