The SSB field is a development stage from Senoro gas field, which is the biggest gas producer in Sulawesi. An appropriate field development strategy to optimize hydrocarbon production are necessary. The character of the fault sealing can influence sustainable development planning in the SSB field whose area bounded by faults. The detailed of fault sealing analysis in carbonate reservoir of the Minahaki Formation has never been studied before.
The characterization and fault seal analysis in the Minahaki Formation with the aim of knowing the presence of compartments at the closure of the SSB field. The method used for fault seal analysis is the shale gouge ratio (SGR). The combination of the fault framework, throw and the composition of the fault zone in the form of clay content from the single parameter, dual parameter (log density and neutron porosity) and multimineral methods along the fault zone and validation with well pressure data.
The formed of geological structure in the study area is control by the strike slip fault regime. It is, indicate by the presence of strike slip fault with trending N 300-350 E in the western part associated with normal faults with trend N 200-800 E in the eastern part. The clay volume in the Minahaki Formation with single parameter method is 0.16-0.26, dual parameter is 0.19-0.39 and multimineral is 0.07-0.18. Based on fault seal analysis with SGR method in the Minahaki Formation, it is control by the distance of the Throw than the shale volume. From the validation with data pressure, it shows that the SGR with a dual parameter is more represent the field conditions of the fault seal in the SSB Field.
