This disease is characterized by itching, especially at night and skin abnormalities in the form of papules, vesicles, urticaria, and cristae. Scabies is a skin disease that usually occurs in islamic boarding schools. Islamic boarding schools have very dense activities, both formal and non-formal. With the density of these activities, students pay less attention to personal hygiene and environmental hygiene which are factors for the occurrence of scabies. Dense housing also makes it easier for scabies to spread. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge, personal hygiene, residential sanitation, and residential density with the incidence of scabies in Islamic boarding schools. This study uses quantitative methods with correlational research types to determine the extent to which the independent variables that become risk factors are related to the dependent variable. While the epidemiological research model used in this study is a case control model which is included in an observational analytic study. The approach used is to conduct a survey to the research location by utilizing research instruments, namely questionnaires, observations, and interviews. Sampling in this study used a quota sampling technique, with a sample of 90 respondents consisting of 45 students of the Darussalam Islamic Boarding School as the case group and 45 students of the Tahfidz Islamic Institute Boarding School as the control group. There are three types of analysis used, namely univariate analysis, bivariate (chi square test and odds ratio), and multivariate (correlation test and linear regression). The results of the Spearman correlation test with a significance of = 0.05 indicate that knowledge has a correlation coefficient value of -0.462, followed by personal hygiene with a correlation coefficient value of -0.583, residential sanitation with a correlation coefficient value of -0.595, and residential density has the strongest relationship with the incidence of scabies with a correlation coefficient of -0.852. text
