Its compressible nature has become a special concern in every region in the world to be used as study material, especially in the city of Jakarta. As it is known that the city of Jakarta with tall buildings that have a high level of risk requires a deep enough foundation for the stability of the building, this research is important to represent the characteristics, physical properties and mechanical properties of deep clay in Jakarta. The value of the compression index (Cc) is the material to be studied as the main factor of the compressibility of clay soils. The sample of deep clay in Jakarta has not been widely studied as an object of research, so that in determining the parameters of deep clay in the city of Jakarta, correlations are still used with the property index value, such as the relationship between Cc value and water content (wn), initial void ratio (e0), Atterberg limits (LL, PL, PI). The use of correlations that do not match the characteristics of clay in Jakarta will cause the parameters used to be mistake so that the building design will be wrong. In this study, two things were proposed, namely (1) a study of the compressibility of deep clay soils in Jakarta by establishing a correlation between the compressibility index value and the property index value and (2) a study of the stability of high-rise buildings in Jakarta related to modeling and foundation settlement. text
